Learn more about cyber basics and trends
“Insurance professionals can help their employees and customers respond to the growing threat of cyber attacks,” said Eric Cernak, cyber practice leader for Munich Re. “We’ve designed these webinars to help inform participants about cyber risks and answer many of the questions we are frequently asked by agents, brokers and insurers.”
Introduction to cyber exposures, Oct. 5
The first webinar Oct.5 will explain how to identify a cyber attack, data breach, or business email scheme, and describe the basics of planning for a response. The session is hosted by Steve McWilliams, IT security manager for HSB; Matt Scott of Guardian Digital Forensics, and Ondrej Krehel of the cybersecurity firm LIFARS LLC.
Cyber insurance coverage, Oct. 12
Cyber insurance coverage is the topic of the second webinar Oct. 12, focusing on the elements of insurance coverage and coverage suites for data breach, cyber attack, cyber extortion and cyber crime. The panelists include HSB’s Eric Cernak, Timothy Zeilman, counsel and vice president for strategic products, and Benjamin Brunese, a cyber practice leader.
Responding to a cyber event, Oct. 19
The cyber claim process and response will be examined in the final two webinars. On Oct. 19, HSB Claim Specialists Gillian Stone and Rich Savage will outline the essential response areas of a cyber claim, including IT forensics, legal counsel, notification providers, identity recovery and public relations.
Cyber litigation, legislation and regulation, Oct. 26
At the end of the final webinar, Oct. 26, participants will be able to discuss the role of breach counsel, identify legal issues associated with data compromise and cyber attacks, and trends in cyber security, litigation, legislation and regulation. Presenters include Sean Hoar, chair of the national Data Privacy & Cyber Security Practice at Lewis Brisbois, James Giszczak, chair of the litigation department at McDonald Hopkins, and Laura Ferguson, an associate at Locke Lord.
